"TWO TICKS" POSITIVE ABOUT DISABLED PEOPLE ACCREDITATION

Positive about Disabled People Logo

The Two Ticks Scheme is a recognition awarded by Job Centre Plus to employers based in Great Britain who have agreed to take action to meet five commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees.

It is represented by the two ticks disability symbol (displayed right) that participating organisations are authorized to display.

THE FIVE COMMITMENTS

Employers who use the disability symbol make five commitments regarding recruitment, training, retention, consultation and disability awareness.

The five commitments are:

  • To interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and to consider them on their abilities.
  • To discuss with disabled employees, at any time but at least once a year, what both parties can do to make sure disabled employees can develop and use their abilities.
  • To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment.
  • To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work.
  • To review these commitments each year and assess what has been achieved, plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Job Centre Plus know about progress and future plans.

ATOP Ltd are dedicated to fulfilling these five commitments in all areas of the workplace and to working within this recognised framework to achieve its disability equality objectives.
